Barking Dogs and Bullies

I love dogs and most of you know my dog Molly, an adorable little malti-poo who loves to basically sleep and eat and be in any room that I am in. But I am NOT a fan of big dogs that are not on leashes and roaming free. And guess what happened yesterday? Well, Molly and I were out for our walk and guess what suddenly appears from behind this pick-up truck. Yup a BIG dog, unleashed and walking about unsupervised. Of course Molly also nicknamed the General does not care how big this beast is and goes off into a full blown Molly smack down. No, No NO I am yelling at my disobedient 17 pound poodly, but she is in full blown Molly protection pattern and nothing is going to come near me her favorite dispenser of the dog treats. Finally the big dog retreats and I see the "owner" of the dog and I tell said owner, "you need to put your dog on a leash or put him in the backyard" Which starts this guy into a screaming fit that this is my yard, my neighbors don't care if he is out front and basically to blank with you and your little dog. Wow! Now the mad in me really got going and never one to back down from a verbal joust, I inform him that it is illegal to have an unleashed dog in this city and he goes crazy yelling for me to get out of his neighborhood that I am not from around here and to go away and never come back. Now something spiritual happened in that moment! "You knew I would get to the good part!" Because I realized then that I wasn't speaking to the man but to every demon in our community that wants me to leave this city. I inform him that I am from around here, I live on the next street, I am not leaving town or the neighborhood(what a crazy thing to suggest) and that I can walk anywhere that I want. Now this guy starts to spit at me. Yup for real! Yelling go go go! And saying we can agree that you are going. So I dug in my New England heels and with every ounce of conviction I have I declared to this demon... I am NOT going, I am staying, I belong here, I have authority to be here and I will NEVER agree with you on Anything do you hear me!!! You know that guy came to the edge of the sidewalk threatening and yelling and I was never afraid. Not once. Praise the Lord! And the dog, well he slunk away and I kind of felt bad for him having to live in the same house with such a bully.
